The repair decision

The work

Isolate and open

Take the circulation pump out of service, control the water, and open the assembly so the failed components can be inspected.

Inspect the wet end

Assess the volute, impeller, shaft, seal area, and internal condition to define the parts and work required.

Replace the components

Install the replacement volute and impeller, then reassemble the pump with the correct fit and sealing surfaces.

Return it to service

Complete lubrication and operational checks. The repaired pump was successfully returned to operation for the strata.
